Deviant Sexuality: The Hypersexualization of Women with Bipolar Disorder

In this manuscript, we seek to explore and problematize the view of hypersexuality as a sign or result of bipolar disorder, and the subsequent hypersexualization of bipolar women. We critique the medical and cultural discourses that hypersexualize bipolar women, and subsequently contribute to our oppression.  Furthermore, we argue that these discourses are gendered and racialized.
